The momentum behind International Décor Outlet’s revitalization of Regency took another giant leap forward on Friday with the official launch of AsianTown Jacksonville.
As final preparations are underway for the first IDO Florida store openings at Regency Square on April 6th, another major event took place on Friday with the signing ceremony that will establish AsianTown as an exciting mix of retail, restaurants and entertainment that will create a cultural center for Jacksonville’s growing Asian community.
Already set to open at Regency is the 6600 sq.ft. Captain’s Catch seafood restaurant. This new family restaurant will serve fresh seafood and combination platters to up to 168 guests in the main dining area, with 26 additional seats at the bar. Captain’s Catch is only the first of a wide variety of culinary destinations planned for IDO Florida, from unique Asian-inspired cuisine, to classic American favorites.
IDO, together with Jacksonville-based restauranteurs and retailers, will create a 100,000 square foot Asian themed shopping complex at Regency offering products and cuisine from China, Japan, Korea, Indonesia and India. The complex will include apparel, jewelry, gifts and salons to name just a few.
The Jacksonville Office of Economic Development has shown great support for the IDO project, and discussions are on-going about incentives that will help in developing the complex and creating up to 300 new retail jobs at this location, plus many more throughout the Jacksonville area. IDO outlets will directly contribute to the creation of additional jobs in importing and warehousing, plus local manufacturing, assembly and installation – all of which have gained high interest and praise from the local government.
International Décor Outlet is renovating the entire west end of Regency Square, as well as the Darien Mall near Brunswick, GA. IDO’s principal focus is on developing outlet-style storefronts for high-end designer merchandise in the Home Décor categories such as kitchen and bath fixtures, fine furniture, lighting and decorator items. In addition, IDO is creating a large supplier network for local builders, interior designers and commercial property managers to provide a higher-grade of appliances, fixtures and finishes for professional installation. This collaborative network and will put more sophisticated projects within the reach of smaller contractors and help their businesses grow as well.
For almost forty years, American’s have limited their expectation to what was available in big-box home improvement centers. IDO gives consumers a chance to explore the much larger world of home décor from designers and manufacturers all around the world, without the big price tags. The AsianTown complex completes the “World at your doorstep” shopping experience with food and fun for the whole family.
